THE ART OF ILLUSION
Week after week we are WOWed at the talent and innovation we see running through the RM community!
Renovating Moms – Cape Town , Astrid Saker is no stranger to our RM community, having previously done a stunning farmyard themed nursery reno.
We love Astrid’s clever use of space, her careful placing of furniture for optimal flow, and her use of a hero piece in a smaller space to make it feel bigger. Astrid opted for a neutral palette and brought in textures like metal, wood, and linen.
“The built-in shelving unit is the hero piece of this room – A blank canvas to add our favourite decor items, along with books, picture frames and plants. It’s so interchangeable, with the invitation to shuffle things every few weeks to keep it fresh and dynamic.”
Astrid’s TOP TIPS to create the illusion of a bigger space.
- Paint the walls a light, fresh colour
- Install floor to ceiling curtains
- Add a floor to wall built-in TV /shelving unit
- Don’t be afraid to bring in a hero piece
