BUDGET BATHROOM – A CLASSY AFFAIR

RM is full of inspiring home decor ideas, and we are blown away daily by the incredible projects, and inspirations shared. This guest bathroom #renoreveal is girl power DIY with classy flair!
I found myself looking at the back of the toilet door and it was ugly. I found a plastic table cloth at PEP for R35 and glazed it onto the door.

A lesson most renovators learn along the way is plan a budget and then to make sure to add on some extra, because your reno almost always will exceed your starting budget. So, add an extra few bucks onto your dream budget, and if you fall under then you score, and if not, well then you won’t feel the pinch too hard! Natalie Botha had her dream bathroom visualized, and started planning and shopping 5 months before she started her reno project. Her husband and her came up with an initial budget of R5000 in mind, she says “ I did the entire renovation for R8255.70, and he was amazed”.
Natalie’s Top Tips
- Use busy floor tiles in high traffic areas like a guest bathroom to avoid using mats.
- Think about what your needs are. In Natalie’s case she chose a basin with a lower front so her 6 year old could reach it.
- Don’t be afraid to ask the outlet if the items in their bathrooms displays are on discount.
- Improvise! The mirror hook is actually a towel hook. Natalie says, “It allows the mirror to hang freely and not pull the strap back.”
- Try a little DIY. “The toilet I reinstalled myself with the help of google, my dad double-checked it for me.”
